Welcome to Age of Man, a tabletop skirmish miniature game in which you take control of one of the three factions, make a squad, and fight to uncover powerful relics and dark histories.

The world has flooded and the Age of Man has come to an end. Mankind’s remnants are now left for the fishes. After millennia of rapid evolution, and their own technological advances, the fish-men have come to uncover the ancient humans underwater domes, which are rich in technology and treasures. Your mission of discovery and recovery may sound simple, but with enemies and danger at each turn, no two trials will be the same.

There are three major factions:

The Reef, The Deep and The Shallows.

The Reef
Diverse and defiant, The Reef is the lifeblood of Aquamunds’ resistance against royal tyranny. A collective of outcasts, artisans, mercenaries, and former nobles who have rejected the decadence of The Shallows, The Reef fights for freedom and survival. Resourceful and united by their common struggle, these rebels dream of building a new society, free from the control of the aristocracy. The treasures within the human domes offer the promise of independence, new weapons, and a future where The Reef can thrive on its own terms. Their reliance on the heavy tools and materials provided by The Deep fuels their war effort, making them scrappy and resourceful, constantly innovating to stay one step ahead. Playing as The Reef is a test of grit and determination, combining guerrilla tactics, craftsmanship, and a desire to overthrow oppression. They are the underdogs, with everything to gain and everything to lose.

The Deep
Mysterious and powerful, The Deep lurks in the uncharted abyss of Aquamunds, where only the bravest dare venture. These ancient miners and excavators dwell near hydrothermal vents, utilizing the geothermal energy to fuel massive machinery and create the infrastructure that sustains both The Shallows and The Reef. Few understand the true nature of The Deep’s society, hidden far beneath the waves, where sunlight never reaches. What is known is that those who study the old history in the depths are strangely altered—imbued with extraordinary powers, or “Charged,” by something ancient and primal that pulses in the darkness. Their heavy armor and formidable machines make them unmatched in raw strength, while their hunger for the domes lies in the potential for new energy sources and even greater technological prowess. To play as The Deep is to wield brute power and arcane energies, embracing the unknown and commanding the seas from its darkest depths.

The Shallows
Rulers of the sunlit waters, The Shallows represent a once-powerful aristocracy, now driven by their ambition to maintain control. In the vibrant, warm oceans where ancient human cities lie beneath coral palaces, this faction thrives on opulence, politics, and manipulation. Masters of both advanced technology and diplomatic intrigue, the aristocrats of The Shallows have perfected the art of maintaining power. While they present themselves as protectors of civilization, they secretly exploit the knowledge and resources of other factions, often turning rivals against one another to strengthen their rule. With an obsession for the remnants of humanity’s golden age, they are constantly seeking the lost domes of human technology—relics that hold the key to extending their lifespan and tightening their grip on Aquamunds. Playing as The Shallows means mastering subterfuge, technological superiority, and a relentless hunger for dominance.

A Reef Minnow class soldier.

This has been a passion project half a year in the works, inspired by my love of the Hellboy movies and comics (specifically Abe Sapien), The Bioshock Franchise and several skirmish board games.

I have had tons of help creating this both visually and gameplay wise. Special thanks to, Anna, Brian, Finn, Reid, Origulator, Blu and Ian.

There will be more coming soon. For now I have the rules and Unit cards. To get your version of the rules, Simply enter your email.
